Event Description
What's better than running by yourself? Running with a bunch of crazy fun people, that's what! There's a major lack of races in Florida in the summer, and that's because, well, it's toasty outside. Lucky for you, the Awesomesauce crew is really really good at this taking care of runners in the heat thing, so we've got your back while you tackle whatever distance you choose.
The course is basically completely flat, on a paved path. We're running in one mile out-and-back laps, so we can keep you close to the things that keep you cool. Expect unlimited ice, an inflatable kiddie pool full of ice juuuuust in case things need to be cooled off quickly, dairy-free smoothies - yes, WHILE you're running, pickle juice slushies - yes, WHILE you're running - and more!
AND we have the luxury of exactly ZERO port-o-potties. Yep, you read that right, toilets that flush and sinks with running water and soap. Is this a runner's dream or what?
You will pass the start/finish/aid station area multiple times throughout the race. This means you're welcome to leave a drop bag to access your own personal goodies during your run. This is also a good place to reapply sunscreen, address any potential issues such as blisters, etc.
Our races are super low-key and non-competitive; we'd prefer to race you vs. you, not you vs. anyone else. The only award we give out is for the person who perseveres the longest - the Super Sloth! There is a 4 hour time limit for all distances.
Your registration fee includes entry into the race distance of your choosing, race swag, finisher medal for all distances, and our usual aid station setup including Gatorade, water, Gu, and snacks and post-race food.
Shirts are NOT included in your race fee. We do give out race swag, it just won't be a shirt! As is tradition with this race, shirts, tank tops, hoodies, and other swag will be available for purchase during registration and on race day.
As with any other race put on by any other company, registration fees and add-on fees are final and are not refundable or transferable for any reason. Prices are subject to change. The races will go on rain, snow (hahahaha!), or shine. If there's lightning, we delay if we can. We prefer to keep you safe, and we make every effort NOT to cancel for weather, but sometimes Ma Nature is stronger than us.
