Event Description

The Kansas Half Marathon & 5k event is for everyone! In its 13th year, Heartland Community Health Center invites you to lace up your running (or walking shoes) and join us on Sunday, November 1st, 2020 in Lawrence, Kansas. Since its inception, the Kansas Half Marathon has partnered with safety-net organizations, like Heartland, to help offset costs and increase access to affordable health care services for those that seek care in Douglas County. This yearwe invite you to run with a purpose and support accessible health care for all.

Heartland Community Health Center, the beneficiary of the race, is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center that provides high-quality and affordable health care for all in Lawrence-Douglas County regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

With your support, Heartland will provide care for more than 7,300 individuals in an integrated primary care model that addresses the needs of the whole person. Together, we can impact the health and lives of those in need in our community.

We strive to increase both local and regional participation and hope you’ll be a part of the event this fall!
