Hosted by the Greater Bridgeport St Patrick's Parade Celebration Committee 

Presented by Murphy's Law Pub, Fairfield Ave.  

Proceeds to benefit the Bridgeport St Patrick's Parade, The Thomas Merton Center and the Black Rock Food Pantry

 

Start your St Patrick's celebration two days early as we bring back the historic "running of the green" event to Bridgeport where it started more than 30 years ago! We encourage all abilities to run or walk our 5k course and support our charities. We will have a free (1/10mi) Kids Run if weather permits

5k (3.1 miles) of "flatness" starting in the City and running straight through to Seaside Park- one of the most scenic venues on the Connecticut shoreline. This park was designed by the same man who gave us New York's Central Park- Frederick Law Olmsted. Seaside Park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. 

The AWARDS- Prizes for the computer timed 5k will be given to the first place overall male & female champions. Age group awards will be given to the top three male & female in groups 8 & under, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and above if pre-registered. Awards can only be given to those completing the entire course and wearing their own bib with computer chip.

The AMENITIES- T-shirts given to all registered by MARCH 1. After that date t-shirts and any other giveaways will be distributed "if available" only. DO NOT get shut out! Shirts take a minimum of two weeks to order, ship, and print and we cannot guarantee what will be ordered after March 1st.

The FOOD- Corn Beef sliders, bagels, bananas, and other items for all REGISTERED participants with their own bib. 

The BEER- One free post - run/walk beer to all participants OVER 21 - soft drinks also available.

The FEES- online until midnight March 13. On-site- cash or check only.

$30 - ages 21 & over until March 13.  $30 March 14 & 15 (at the event)

$15- ages 20 & under until March 13. $20 March 14 & 15 (at the event)

The TIMELINE-

3/1  T-shirt guarantee cutoff date. After that only as available (with a possibility that they may have sold out)

3/14 Pre-reg pickup: time and place to be determined- you will be alerted by email if you are pre-registered and we secure a location

3/15 7:30-9:00am  Pre-reg pickup and late registration 

        8:40am FREE kids Shamrock Fun Run- 5th grade & under only, if weather permits. 

       9:00am START of the 5k

       9:15am Food & fluids available

      10:00am Awards distributed (early pick up may be available if results are official and available)

The RACE DIRECTOR- Marty Schaivone, with 30 years of experience will coordinate this event.
