The Gooding Gobbler is a walk/run 5K held on Thanksgiving. It began in 2013 by Emily Graybeal and friends, as a fundraiser to help a friend cover his medical costs from cancer. Since then it has donated funds to various organizations such as the Gooding Volunteer Group's playground fund and now this year to the Gooding High School softball team. The softball team plans to futher their program and buy uniforms.
The community of Gooding and many others has shown great support each year. Blue Fire, a local wilderness therapy program for youth, is sponsering the t-shirts and medals. The softball team and volunteers will help organize the event.
The run/walk starts at North Valley Acadmey which then winds through town and the countryside. All participants will recieve a t-shirt with registration. If you have a child 5 and under their registration will be free. If you would like to purchase an additional t-shirt for them you will have that option when registering. Medals will be given out to top finishers and to other fun categories such as the oldest and youngest runners.
We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the race.
