Event Description
The 28th Annual Hoot Lake Triathlon is held at Hoot Lake in the beautiful lakes country of Minnesota on Saturday, July 25th. The course consists of a 1/4 mile open water swim in Hoot Lake; a 15.7 mile bike ride, all right turns, limited traffic control, bike helmets are required and drafting is prohibited; and a 3.3 mile run.
The Fergus Falls Area Family YMCA directs this event and Pickle Events will provide the timing and results.

Saturday, July 25, 2020
6:30-7:30 AM Check-in and packet pick-up at Hoot Lake Public Access (aka: Godel Park). All participants must be marked and attend a pre-race meeting at 7:45 AM.
8:00 AM Race Start
If participants park in the Hoot Lake Public Access area, they will not be allowed to exit until the last racer comes in from the run.
All participants will receive a race t-shirt. However, registrations received after July 10th may not receive a t-shirt. Prizes will be given out and one lucky participant attending the awards ceremony will win a road bike valued at over $1,000 courtesy of Central Lakes Cycle.
Awards - Top male and female will receive a 1st place overall trophy. Awards for the first three places for males and females in each one of the following age groups:
- 19 and under
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60 and over
Awards will also be given to top three places for each relay division - male, female, and mixed.
All participants will be marked with race numbers. Swimmers must wear swim caps (provided by YMCA). Wetsuits are allowed. Bikers must wear ANSI approved helmets (no drafting on bike course). Racers wearing life jackets will go out in the last heat and will be disqualified from placing in the event.
Awards Following last finisher. Results will be posted on www.pickleevents.com.
