2019 Firecracker 5K Walk/Run

Kids Race to follow the 5K

HARPERS FERRY BOOSTERS INC will be sponsoring its annual Firecracker 5K Walk/Run on July 4th in conjunction with the Harpers Ferry Fourth of July Celebration. 

The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages, with electronic chip timing being provided for racers.  The event will take place in Harpers Ferry on a flat, level surface.  No running in our beautiful hills.
 
It starts and ends at the Ethel Robinson Meehan Community Center beginning at 8 a.m. 

Check-in/registration is at the Community Center Friday, July 3 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. or Saturday, July 4 from 7:00-7:30 a.m. 
T-shirts will be awarded to all those who pre-register no later than June 20.
 

Printed registration forms are also available at the Dolores Tillinghast Memorial Library, Harpers Ferry City Hall and other local businesses in Harpers Ferry. Forms can be printed off the Harpers Ferry Boosters Inc. website at www.harpersferryboostersinc.org.

Male/female divisions and categorized by adult age groups and youth will be on the www.j3timing.com.
 
Any child under the age of five may participate for free. Children are welcome to walk with their parent(s), ride in a stroller or ride their bikes or walk.

A Kids Race will also be held after the 5k Run/Walk.
 
Proceeds from this event will be used for Harpers Ferry Boosters Inc projects, such as a youth scholarships, holiday youth events, Granny Basketball, fireworks and more.
 
Light refreshments will be served following the race for all those participating. 
The race awards ceremony will be held immediately following the race. 

The Harpers Ferry Fireworks will take place at dusk the evening of July 4.
