2020 The Popsicle Fun Run and 5K

This is a community event taking place at Lake Cunningham Park and on surrounding side streets. All ages are welcome to participate!

WHAT ARE THE DISTANCE OPTIONS?

There are two sub-events: the Fun Run (1 mile) and the 5K (3.1 miles). You may run or walk on either course!

FUN RUN:

The Fun Run will take place inside Lake Cunningham Park. It will start and finish at the Cypress Pavilion.

5K:

The 5K route is DIFFERENT this year! The 5K will start at the Cypress Pavilion, head out of the park, loop out onto surrounding side streets and then return into the park to finish at the Cypress Pavilion.

We take safety very seriously, and are taking every precaution to make sure that older children feel safe and comfortable running this course. The streets will be closed with barricades during the time of the 5K, and there will be police staffed at corners to ensure no vehicles enter the course. In addition, we will have "Safe Adults" staffed along the route (approximately every 500-800 feet) to ensure children follow the proper course, and have someone they approach in case of any issues. The attire of the Safe Adults will be shared with everyone at the starting line so everyone is aware of who they are along the 5K course. The 5K course must be finished by 11:30am to allow streets to re-open. This means each mile must be completed in 30 minutes or less.

WHAT WILL FINISHERS RECEIVE?

Every finisher will get their official finisher time, a flashy finisher medal, a free photo from the DaSilva photo booth, a swag bag full of goodies and freebies and, of course... a refreshing, delicious popsicle!!

And what about the "winners"?

Everyone who participates is a WINNER is our book! The top male and female in each age category (for both the Fun Run & 5K) will receive bragging rights and a very special trophy!

Littles (5-8) | Middles (9-12) | Biggies (13-17) | 18-25 | 26-35 | 36-45 | 46-55 | 55+

WHAT ELSE WILL THE EVENT INCLUDE?

There will be a Finish Line Festival which will include: a Fun Zone for kids (inflatable games, bounce houses and face-painting), food trucks, a DJ, and over 30 raffle baskets full of FUN prizes!!

ANYTHING ELSE TO KNOW?

Raffle tickets and Fun Zone tickets will be available for purchase now with your registration (buy now and save!) and on the day of the event for full price. Cash and credit card accepted. All tickets are $1 (with Fun Zone activities costing between 1-5 tickets).

Food Trucks will be onsite after the race. Cash Only.

Parking is available for $6 at the gate. Cash only. Limited free street parking available outside of the park.

Strollers are welcome! Bicycles, scooters and pets are not. Please note: All children who are on the course (including stroller babies and toddlers) must be registered for the event due to insurance and liability reasons.

SHIRTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE!

We heard your feedback last year! You want a shirt to commemorate this event and we don't blame you! In order to keep the registration costs down, shirts are available for purchase separately. Adult and Youth sized shirts may be added to your cart during the registration process, or purchased separately on our website at a later date. However, the cut-off date for purchasing shirts is Saturday, May 9th (to allow time for production and shipping). A limited quantity of shirts will be available for purchase onsite at a higher cost.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON MAY 28TH!

We will close online registration on May 28th. Anyone looking to sign-up after May 28th will have to register onsite the morning of the event. Onsite registrations will NOT receive a themed 2020 Popsicle Fun Run and 5K bib.
