Teams are easy to create and team names will be printed on the back of the race t-shirts and published on the event website!

The “Living the Dream” Memorial Run/Walk supports Parent Heart Watch, an organization dedicated to eliminating preventable deaths in youth from sudden cardiac arrest. Race proceeds are used donate AED’s to the St. Paul Parks and Recreation Department. AEDs are currently deployed right in Joe's hometown of St. Paul at Frogtown Community Center, Duluth & Case Rec Center, Edgecumbe Recreation Center, Hazel Park Rec Center & Wilder Rec Center.

This event also benefits those whose goal it is to serve their communities through a scholarship fund at St. Cloud State University for students in the Criminal Justice Program.

The “Living the Dream” Memorial 5K honors Joe Plant's commitment to strength and endurance, his love of life and service to others. Joe was famous for saying he was just "Living the Dream", and achieved his dream of becoming a St. Paul Police Officer shortly before passing away suddenly in January 2008.
