Event Description

So you’re ready to make your 2017 New Years Resolution, and you’re debating whether or not you should become a part of the Resolution Races team?  Let’s start with a couple facts:

“Health and Fitness” is the #1 New Years Resolution made, by far!
“Giving Back” is the #5 New Years Resolution made.

Think about your upcoming New Year’s Resolution, and what you want to accomplish… pretty close?  Yes, this is close – this is science.  A couple more facts:

35% of New Year’s Resolutions fail in the first week.
92% of New Year’s Resolutions fail overall.

Think about all your previous New Year’s Resolutions… pretty close?  Yes, this is close – this is science.  Now ask yourself a couple of questions:

Would you actually like to get healthy and fit this year?
Would you actually like to find a way to give back this year?

Seriously, do you really want your New Years Resolution to be successful?  Some people simply enjoy the conversations about “resolutions” and, truth be told, when they fail, “oh well” – there is nothing wrong with that – other people find a way to succeed!  Which one are you?  Do you have an attainable plan this year to succeed?  Do you have an actionable trajectory of success?  We know your answers – you don’t have a real plan, but you do want the success – again, this is science.

Good ‘ol science has taught us many truths over the years, two of these truths are:

Anyone has the ability accomplish their New Years Resolutions!
Sadly, there isn’t a magic pill to make it all happen overnight!

LINX Consulting, in partnership with Fit 2 Be Kids, wants to help you bring “science” to bear on your “Health and Fitness” resolution, all in benefit to “Give Back” to the kids.  Resolution Races brings all the elements together so that you can truly succeed this year.  Here is what you can expect:

The Courses

All the courses will start in the CoorsTek parking lot in Golden, CO (See your registration for exact address).

  • The 5K course will stay low and flat along Table Mountain Parkway, the adjacent dirt trails, and around Tony Grampsas Memorial Complex.  You can expect a relatively flat course with a mixture of hard (concrete) and soft (trail) surfaces.
  • The 10K course will start at the same location, but will cross Easley Road and run up and around North Table Mountain.  The course is almost completely all trail – it is a challenging course – and the views and sense of accomplishment will make the whole the adventure worthwhile!
  • The 13.1M and 26.2M courses will continue up, over and around either 1X or 2X on North Table Mountain.  While this is a challenging course, like the 10, it is fun, adventurous, beautiful, scenic and exciting.  The sense of accomplishment once you’ve finished these courses will be something to be very proud of!

Start Times

  • The 5K races will start at 9am.
  • The 10K races will start at 8am.
  • The half and full marathons will start at 7am.

Swag

All registrants will receive running gear in one form or another as our thank you for registering, plus you will get any gear that our donors would like you to have.  Over the course of the event, you can expect to possibly get a tech T-shirt, a tech hat, running bags, compression socks, and a variety of other gear we can think to give you… We’re going to have a little fun with this too!  We’re about sharing!

The Training Plan

As you register for the race series, and as the year goes along, we will be emailing you a training plan to get you going.  If you follow this training plan, you will be ready for each race day!  But, as you know, following the training plan is the tough part!  See the support section that follows below…

The Diet Plan

With your registration, we will provide you with our proven version of what your diet should look like for the first 30-60 days, and then as the year goes on, our coaches (see support below) can help you tweak and mold the diet plan to fit your needs.  No two diet plans are ever the same, and we can help you fit your diet to your body and your needs.

Support

  1. Every weekend, either on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be an organized group run in/around/about the Denver/Golden/Boulder area.  You can expect to find fellow Resolution Race participants there as well as coaches and mentors who can help you with some of the challenges with regards to staying on track.  This is a great way to stay on track with your training plan!
  2. Our Social Media pages, FaceBook in-particular, will become a go-to resource for you for training tips, diet tips, motivation, support, and anything else we can put on it.  Whatever we can do to help you, we will provide it!

THE RESOLUTION RACES ARE HERE FOR YOU THIS YEAR!  WE WILL BE MAKING CHANGES AS WE LEARN MORE AND GET MORE INFORMATION, BUT KNOW THIS – ANYTHING WE CAN DO TO HELP YOU, WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!

2017 IS YOUR YEAR!
