Event Description

  About the race

The Scenic Half Marathon course is a sight to be seen! With fantastic views from the Long Bridge, stunning surroundings and picturesque setting of Lake Pend Oreille, the Scenic Half Marathon in Sandpoint, Idaho is unlike any other race around.

The route is great for elite and beginning runners alike, as the majority of the course is flat and fast. The course is an out-and-back style and is not a closed course. The majority of the route for the 10k race is on bike paths and paved walkways with no vehicle access; about half of the half marathon is on bike paths, and half will be on Lakeshore Drive, a beautiful rural road along the shores of Pend Oreille. (We provide numerous safety monitors on foot, bicycles and local law enforcement officers and vehicles - but always be alert for personal safety.)

Each round of races begins at Sandpoint City Beach where runners and their spectators may gather ahead of time to take in the sunshine and surroundings. Ample free parking is provided all across Sandpoint, allowing participants to enjoy everything the area has to offer.

The Scenic Half Marathon sets Sandpoint apart as a destination location for runners, outdoor adventure seekers, tourists and fitness gurus alike!
