Event Description

Mothers Against Cancer was founded in 1989 to help the fight against cancer, a leading cause of childhood disease. MAC is a nonprofit foundation with 501(c)(3) status from the IRS. Our membership is made up of volunteers from the Kingwood and Lake Houston area. We raise funds for the cancer center at Texas Children’s Hospital and do not have any paid employees. As a result, we do not have any paid staff members and our expenses are kept to a minimum. The goal of Mothers Against Cancer is to raise funds for the research necessary to lead to a cure for all forms of childhood cancer.

Event details and schedule

The Mothers Against Cancer - Virginia Gandy 5K Run/Walk will be held April 25, 2020, at Kingwood High School, at 8:00.  Packet pickup will be held on April 24 from 3 - 7 pm at Raising Cane's, 4509 Kingwood Dr, 77345.    Enter the parking lot by the tennis courts (at the light) and park near the west side of the parking lot.  The children's race will be held at 9:15 am.  There will be several kid's events such as face painting, balloon twisting, games, Kona Ice, and food and drink.  All participants will receive a medal. 

Race day registration will be available at 7:00 am.  

5K start time - 8:00 am

Awards - 9:00 am

Children's race start time - 9:15 am 

Post Race Party- 9:30 am
