Event Description

The Third Annual Keep Carroll Beautiful Green Run will be held Saturday, October 3rd along the beautiful Carrollton GreenBelt.

Keep Carroll Beautiful, in partnership with local businesses, uses this race to raise much-needed funds for our community recycling events, beautification efforts, and litter prevention & clean up.

The Route

The race will start from the Target trailhead and follow the path towards the Carrollton City Schools Campus and down Ben Scott Boulevard before turning onto the shaded section along the Buffalo Creek. Runners will conquer the hill leading to Hays Mill Trailhead and pass Laura's Park getting on the bridge over the Buffalo Creek Shoals. (Water and restroom available in this area). A sharp turn and quick downhill lead to the Hays Mill Road Underpass (stay in your lane all the way through this limited visibility section) and you are almost at the turnaround point! Now just follow the path back to Target Trailhead and claim your medal, grab some snacks, and find a spot to rest! 

We encourage everyone to social-distance before and after the race. Masks will be required during packet pickup and for day-off signups. 

The Schedule

• The race starts at 8 am, Saturday, October 3rd.
• Awards begin at 9 am. 
• If needed, the runners will be staggered in smaller groups to comply with CDC recommendations and state regulations on social gatherings.

Packets and Pickup

• The Race Packet includes a t-shirt and bib. Runners also receive a participation medal upon completing the 5K.
• Virtual runners can pick up their packets/medals from KCB office (by appointment or during Early Packet Pickup). We can also ship the packet - please choose the shipping option during registration to speed up the process.
• Early Packet Pickup - Thursday, October 1st, 5 to 6:30 pm, KCB Office, 605 Dixie Street in Carrollton, or Friday, October 2nd, 10 am to 2 pm - also at the KCB Office. Please wear a mask. 

Virtual and In-Person

While the Green Run is held outdoors with plenty of space to safely social-distance, we understand some runners and walkers may want to take extra precautions and still be willing to support Keep Carroll Beautiful through participating in the 5K. We are offering honor-system virtual run/walk and ask that participants join us on October 3rd, or any other convenient date, to be a part of the KCB community!
