I would like to formally invite you to the PossAbilities Para-cycle Race Series in conjunction with the 2020 Redlands Bicycle Classic in Redlands, CA, USA from April 23, 2020 through April 26, 2020. We will be hosting a time trial (C2), road race, relay, and criterium. We are happy to announce that the 2020 time trial is a UCI sanctioned C2 event. Wednesday, April 22 – Orientation & Packet Pickup

Thursday, April 23 – Time Trial (Only official para-cycling classifications) $30

Start/Finish on Angeles Crest Highway, 5 miles west of Wrightwood, CA
Distance: 9.6 miles (out and back)

Distance: 2.73 km/1.7 mi. loop for 25 laps (41 km/32.5 mi. max)

Distance: 1.6 km/1.0 mile circuit for 9 laps

Distance: 1.04km/0.65 mile circuit for 30 minutes

EVENT REGISTRATION
Race registration must be completed online prior to the event. Go to www.active.com search PossAbilities and choose PossAbilities Para-cycle Race Series. Registration closes April 10, 2020.
LICENSING
Proof of a UCI membership allows you to compete in UCI-sanctioned races in the U.S. and internationally. Those not participating in the time trial can provide a USAC domestic license to participate in all other races. Licenses can be purchased athttps://www.usacycling.org/race-licenses#international or https://www.usacycling.org/race-licenses.
MANDATORY TECHNICAL ORIENTATION MEETING
There will be a mandatory technical orientation meeting at packet pickup on Wednesday April 22, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

This meeting is mandatory for all cyclists. If you will not be racing in Thursday’s time trial but will race in any other races and cannot make the orientation meeting, please arrive at least an hour early to your race to pick up your packet.
RELAY TEAMS
Relay teams will be comprised of 3 athletes in the MH1-5 and WH1-5 classification that do not exceed the six (6) points per UCI rule 16.7.012. Relay teams need to be submitted via email to cowilliams@llu.edu no later than April 10, 2020.

RECUMBENT RIDERS
Recumbent riders can participate in the road race and criterium. Participation in both races is required to qualify for the omnium prize payout.
PROTEST PERIOD
A protest regarding posted race results must be made within 15 minutes of posting.
START INFORMATION
All riders are asked to check in with the para-cycle race director 30 minutes prior to race start. Riders should arrive at the start line in a timely fashion prior to their designated start time. Riders will start at 30 second intervals for the time trial. If a rider does not start at the appropriate time, the clock will start and will continue to run with or without the rider starting from the designated starting block. The time trial start order will be in race packets and provided to all racers at the technical meeting.
SOUVENIRS
Event shirts are available for purchase during online registration for $10.
AWARD CEREMONY
There will be an awards ceremony within 30 minutes after all races.
HELMETS
Helmets are required for all events.UCI helmet colors by class will be enforced for the time trial.

TRAVEL STIPEND
The first 10 non-California athletes to register online for all races in their respective categories will be entitled to a $100 stipend. The first 10 international athletes that register online for all races in their respective categories will be entitled to a $200 travel stipend. All recipients of stipends will be required to submit a signed W-8/W-9 at packet pick-up to receive the stipend. Travel stipends will be mailed out within 90 days after the race.
PRIZE MONEY
Prize money will be paid as follows for race categories containing a minimum of 3 participants in each relative category on all race days. Para-cycling categories are: C, H, T, B, and our addition of recumbent class in some stages.
H CLASS Omnium (TT, RR, & Crit.)
1st place = $200 2nd place = $100 3rd place = $50
C, T & B Omnium (TT & RR)
1st place = $100 2nd place = $50 3rd place = $25
Recumbent Omnium (RR & Crit.)
1st place = $100 2nd place = $50 3rd place = $25
Relay (H Class only)
1st place = $150 per team 2nd place = $120 per team 3rd place = $90 per team
Payouts will be mailed out within 90 days after the race. A completed & signed W-8 (international riders) or W-9 (USA riders) must be submitted at packet orientation/packet pick-up in order to prize winners to receive their payout. Only cyclists that pay for and compete in all days of racing in their respective class are eligible for prize money.

PossAbilities is a free community outreach program developed by the Loma Linda University Health (LLUH) that provides resources and support to those with a permanent physical or intellectual disability and or veterans. We strive to provide a sense of community, new direction, and hope through physical, social, and spiritual engagement. Our program is tailored to persons with limb difference, stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, and more. Start/Finish on Angeles Crest Highway, 5 miles west of Wrightwood, CA
Distance: 9.6 miles (out and back)
Start Time: 10:00 a.m.
Profile
The time trial is a 9.6 mile out and back course with winding turns through a two lane mountain road. The time trial is located 5 miles outside of Wrightwood California at an elevation of 7400 feet above sea level.
Directions to Race
From Redlands take the I-10W to I-210W to I-215N to I-15N to I-138W to I-2W. Alternatively Google Mountain High Ski resort 24510 CA-2, Wrightwood, CA 92397.
Parking
Located at Inspiration Point and Blue Ridge Trailheads on the Angeles Crest Highway SR-2.
Friday, April 24 – Road Race(All Classifications)
Yucaipa Regional Park
Distance: 2.73 km/1.7 mi loop for 25 laps (41 km/32.5 mi max)
Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
Profile
Road race will take place on a 1.27 mile closed course for 25 laps. All racers will finish on the leaders lap regardless of laps completed. From the race start/finish line racers will make a sweeping left turn before a short climb and will then make way through very technical roads that narrow slightly. Speeds will then begin to pick up as you make way through a fast sweeping left turn right into a very technical chicane. Race line will be key here. Then racers will tackle a short steep climb before a short flat section that will help build speeds for the exciting quick descent through the start finish line.

Parking will be in the North end of the park. Use the Yucaipa Regional Park pass in your race packet to park.
Saturday, April 25 – Relay Race(H classification only)
Start/Finish at Citrus Avenue, Downtown Redlands, CA
Distance: 1.6 km/1.0 mile circuit for 9 laps
Start Time: 12:45 p.m.
Profile
Course has 9 turns that wind through downtown Redlands. Same long criterium course from past years that has become so popular. Relay team chutes will be located just past the Shimano support tent located about 200 feet in front of the start/finish line. Teams will start with one rider from each team on start/finish line for a mass start. Once the race starts riders will make one full lap continuing past their own team chutes prompting the next team rider to start his/her lap. After passing their team chute, racers will make an abrupt left turn onto 7th street in order to make turn around to get ready for staging. Each rider will complete 3 laps.

401 E Citrus Ave, Redlands, CA 92373. Park on 8th and 9th Street between State Street and Citrus Ave., and in parking lot between 8th and 9th Streets.
Sunday, April 26 – Criterium (H & recumbent classifications only)
Location – Downtown Redlands at Citrus Ave., Redlands, CA
Start Time – 3:05 p.m.
Distance – 1.04 km/.65 mi loop for 30 minutes
Course – Fast and technical course
Course
The course is a .65 mile criterium circuit race with 5 right hand turns; technical with wide roads. Mass start, but will be scored in separate race categories. All will finish on the leaders lap regardless of laps completed.
Parking
On 8th and 9th Street between State Street and Citrus Ave., and in parking lot between 8th and 9th Streets.
