The Wells of Life 5K/1K at Laguna Niguel Regional Park is a life changing event for those whom we help in rural Uganda.
Dirty, contaminated water is a way of life in rural Uganda. At Wells of Life we drill clean water wells in remote villages, significantly reducing childhood mortality, providing educational opportunity and economic opportunity to some of the most vulnerable people. Most women and children spend 3+ hours a day transporting contaminated water, we bring them the gift of health and enable them to continue their education and hold jobs.
Many people at this family oriented run also create teams that raise money to pay for a well. We encourage all team leaders to raise the $6,000 it costs to drill a well. 100% of all donations raised at this race will go towards new wells! Last year we raised $132,000 resulting in 22 new wells that benefited over 20,000 rural Ugandans.
