Sepsis and Sepsis Alliance

Sepsis is the body's often deadly response to infection. Sepsis is the third leading cause of death in the U.S. (after heart disease and cancer) taking more than 270,000 lives every year. There are more than 1.7 million cases of sepsis every year and survivors often face long-term effects post-sepsis, including amputations, anxiety, memory loss, chronic pain and fatigue, and more. Almost 60% of sepsis survivors experience worsened cognitive (mental) and/or physical function.

Sepsis Alliance is the leading nonprofit patient advocacy organization in the U.S. promoting awareness of sepsis. Sepsis Alliance's mission is to save lives by raising awareness of sepsis as a medical emergency. All contributions, including tickets purchased and donations, to Sepsis Alliance, a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. For more information on Sepsis Alliance, please visit www.sepsis.org.
