Calling all 5K runners for the running of the 4th-Annual Downtown Cartersville 5K to benefit 'Backpack Buddies program!'
NOTE: This is scheduled as a LIVE, in-person event. Should anything change due to circumstances, a decision will be made on August 1st as to the nature of the race, (i.e. small groups with staggered start times; or switching to a 'Virtual' race, etc.)...but for now, we are going forward with this as a traditional, LIVE, in-person race, using best-practices for keeping you safe.
NEW this year will be a 1K Fun Run around the Courthouse for the little ones, but they'll get to finish under the banner like the big folks! Let's DO this!!
This popular 5K will start & finish in historic Downtown Cartersville, with a scenic route that encircles downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods. Sponsored by Anytime Fitness of Cartersville; The Cartersville Downtown Development Authority; Wire2Wire Running, LLC; and many, many others...this 5K promises to produce a good time for all, no matter your age!
As a USATF-CERTIFIED 5K COURSE (Certification #GA18034WC), it is a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier! But even if you're not doing Peachtree, you can be assured that it is accurate.
Please plan to "hang around" afterward the 5K for age group awards presentations, while you enjoy vendor tents, LIVE music, and even a craft beer! An awesome way to start your weekend!

Pre-Race on-line Registration will run until 11:00pm, Sunday, August 16th. (Be sure to pre-register in order to guarantee your T-shirt size!)
Race Day Registration will be located inside Sam Jones United Methodist Church's 'Family Life Center,' located at 100 W. Church Street, north of the Old Cartersville Courthouse.
Please Note:
Race-Day Registration on race morning OPENS at 6:30am and CLOSES at 7:30am due to the size of the event! Please arrive early. The cost for Race Day Registration is $35 for the 5K and is $25 for the 1K Fun Run.

- SATURDAY MORNING (Aug. 22, race day)
FRIDAY: If you have pre-registered, we highly-encourage you to pick up your race packet & t-shirt on Friday, August 21st from 10am--6pm at the Anytime Fitness in Cartersville (10 Slope Dr.) off N. Tennessee St., next to the AMC Movie Theater. Saves time & stress on race morning.
SATURDAY: If you are unable to get your race packet & t-shirt ahead of time on Friday evening, you may pick it up on race morning beginning at 6:00am inside Sam Jones Methodist Church's 'Family Life Center' (135 West Cherokee Ave.) in downtown Cartersville.
PARKING:
Parking is available in the large parking lot * between The Bartow County Courthouse and Sam Jones Methodist Church, located at 135 West Cherokee Avenue in downtown Cartersville. Additiional parking is available in limited areas surrounding downtown.
(NOTE: * This location is approximately one block from the downtown finish line location.)
COURSES:
YES, the 5K is indeed a CERTIFIED COURSE and is a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier for those who are competitive! (Certification #GA18034WC)
- Starting Line is located at the intersection(s) of Church Street and Bartow Street, facing East on Church St.
- Finish Line is located inside Friendship Plaza off of Cherokee Ave. Please note the separate locations of the Start line & Finish line.
All 5K runners/5K wheelchair athletes must complete the attached wavier prior to race start.
The 1K Fun Run will make one loop around the Courthouse Block before finishing at the common finish line, downtown inside Friendship Plaza by the train depot in front of the ROARING CROWD!!!
