So many people under the COVID19/Corona Virus are under lock and key. Schools, churches, amusement parks, movie theaters and more are closed. Easter is just around the corner and so many people will only be doing an Easter Egg Hunt in their backyard this year. The fun community events and activities are cancelled to protect everyone. We have created a fun event for family and friends and community to keep us going. We call this the Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt Race. On Friday April 10, 2020 we will send you an email clue to your first destination. To give you an idea of where this hunt be held will be in the Wasatch Front. It can be anywhere from Draper to Salt Lake City. Teams can be as large as 10 people or you can do it as one racer. This will keep everyone in the COVID19 rules of less than 10 racers. The first clue will ask all racers to meet at Gardner Village in the parking lot in your cars. Do not come out because this clue will be texted to your phone. We do not want everyone interacting this way. We will be using the app Marco Polo and the Group Keep Calm and Run On - Hill Events to share your adventures that day. Groups will be required to do several challenges. A challenge can be run a mile to the next clue or just solve an answer which will go to the next clue. This race require a car or van for each team. So if you have a car with 5 seats you cannot have more than 5 people on the team. A van with 7 or up to 10 even for 15 passenger vans. We will have the following scavenger hunts:
1 Mile Kids Hunt - Several Clues (Not more than 1 Mile in distance for the Total Team)
5K Challenge - Several Clues (Not more than 3.1 Miles distance for everyone on the Team) All racers will eventually do a 5K
Half Marathon Challenge - Several Clues (Not more than 13.1 Miles distance for everyone on the Team) All racers will eventually do a Half Marathon.
Rules: No speeding in the car or van! Immediate disqualification for cars that go over 5 MPH over the speed limit and those that drive recklessly. Must record a small portion of each leg on Marco Polo phone app and post it during the race. Must document on Strava to confirm challenges are done. Must carry your own support. At least 2 Smart Phones per team or one for those solo. If you see other runners on the hunt you can yell at them however you cannot slap them high five or get within 6 yards of them unless you are passing them.
