We have (six) 5/10K races and (one) Half Marathon scheduled for the 2020 season. Background check is required for entry. You must email the requested information to Bill Marion: Athletic Club Staff Advisor. Oregon State Penitentiary. The deadline for application is at least 10 days prior to the race. A small donation would be greatly appreciated, but of course not required.
Guests must provide the needed information at least 2 weeks prior to the event/all guests must pass a criminal background check. Once back ground is cleared you will receive confirmation. For the 5k/10k races guests need to check in the day of event between 1015am-1045am.
The day of the Half Marathon (Sept.4th) Guests need to arrive at the prison between 7am-730am. Due to staff availability being punctual is very important. If you arrive after 11am for the 5k or later than 730am for the Half Marathon we may not have staff available to escort you in.
.                      • NO blue denim or blue clothing.
.                      • Clothing that is unduly suggestive or form fitting is prohibited (exception: runners may wear tights or leggings but must have shorts over them. 
.                      • Hooded sweatshirts, lined jackets/coats, lightweight sweaters, jackets, and/or sport/suit coats are permitted, but must be worn the whole time. 
.                      • Clothing, hairstyles, insignias or other paraphernalia associated with security threat groups or that create undue attention or conflict are prohibited;
                        i.e., camouflage clothing, slogans, suggestive, or controversial statements.
.                      • New guests may want to bring an extra set of clothing just to be sure that you will be allowed into the institution. 
.                      • All guests must walk through a metal detector. Avoid wearing anything that will set it off such as metal buttons, jewelry and under wire bras, etc.
.                      • Guests who cannot pass through the metal detector for a medical reason (artificial joints, pacemakers, etc.,) must bring medical documentation of the
                        reason. You will then have a manual “frisk” prior to entrance.
