Event Description
With so many of our events being cancelled or postponed, runners all over the country still have a strong desire for something to train for and look forward to. Despite the difficulties, runners are staying safe, and finding their own unique ways to keep running and training in a safe, legal and ethical manner. I've decided to create The Quarantine Run 2020. This is a virtual 5k run, and I'm working to make it unique in many ways. Among other things, there will be an actual race date and start time (April 25th at 9am Eastern), a virtual check in and start on race day morning, timekeeping (even for treadmill runners!), and custom engraving for age group winners. All participants will receive the custom Quarantine Run 2020 medal, with age group winners receiving the engraving. May you all be safe and stay healthy.
******* If you cannot participate on the scheduled race date, you can absolutely still register. Your medal or medals will still be shipped. But, you won't be eligible for age group awards (engraving on your medal) or to be counted among the "official" times posted after race day.******

Race Date and start time: Saturday April 25th 2020. Virtual check-in via live-stream in Facebook group above starts at 8:00am Eastern time. Virtual race start via Facebook group above live-stream at 9:00am Eastern time. The live-stream will be going while you are running, and we will be waiting for you to complete your 5k.
Pricing includes shipping, and is configured for Continental United States runners only. For runners outside the Continental United States, please email Race Director at fjjrunning@gmail.com for additional shipping cost.
Timekeeping: Race timing will operate on the honor system. Given the unique nature of each runner's situation, we will accept proof of completed 5k on race day via text or email (to be provided) or via visual confirmation through the Facebook live-stream. For example: Treadmill runners may text a picture of their treadmill console. Or, phone app users may screenshot their completed run on their phone app and text the picture. Or, runners using a watch may snap a pic of their watch-face and text it in. You may run in any way that is safe, legal, and ethical in your area. This may be on a treadmill, trail, sidewalk, laps around your house, laps inside your house, etc.
Results will be published in the Facebook Group.
