Event Description

The McKenna Subaru Surf City Surf Dog®, is celebrating 12 years of doggone fun in Surf City USA on Saturday, 9/26! The comPETition brings together the community, surFURs, dog lovers, families & pets for a day of fun and "fund"raising at one of Southern California's most pristine beaches - Huntington Dog Beach! Make sure you check the schedule for the complete list of the doggone fun, Friday and Saturday!

 
COMPETITION FORMAT

Individual surFURS (single dogs) compete in either Weight-Based or Shredder heats. 

  • WEIGHT-BASED - Includes both Owner-Launched and Handler-Launched surFURS
    Owner and handler categories will surf together in weight-based heats in the prelim rounds and in the finals they will be separated into owner or handler heats.
  • SHREDDER - Advanced/pro surFURs that are owner-launched.

TANDEM - Double the fun in tandem division(s:

  • Dog/Dog (2+ dogs)
  • Dog/Human
  • Dog/Human SUP

SurFUR REGISTRATION FEES

Individual Dog Heats (Weight based owner or handler, or shredder categories):

  • Early bird entry fee thru 5/31 - $50
  • Entry fee 6/1 - $70
  • Entry fee 8/1 - $80

Tandem Heats:

  • Early bird entry fee thru 5/31 - $80
  • Entry fee 6/1 - $90
  • Entry fee 8/1 - $110

Registration includes a super cool collectors t-shirt and medal. There are limited surFUR slots within each heat, so register early. Registration will close (if not sold out) on Sunday, September 20!

8:00 – 2 PM surFUR Expo
8:00 AM – 2:15 PM McKenna Subaru Surf City Surf Dog Competition
2:30 PM Awards Ceremony
