Event Description

Come on out and race along the wooded trails at Oak Openings Metropark. Four race distances to choose from! 50K (31 miles), 25K (15.5 miles), 10K (6.2 miles), and 5K (3.1 miles; walkers are welcome in the 5K). All races utilize the beautiful trails at Oak Openings Metropark that pass through hardwood and pine forests, open prairie, and along stream sides.  All races start and finish next to Mallard Lake and utilize the Buehner Center both located in the center of the park. Post-race includes food, fun, unique finisher medals, and awards. A long sleeve tech shirt is included with registration, but sizes and availability are guaranteed only if you register by August 31st. After that, sizes and availability are while supplies last. Registration discounts also apply for those who register by August 31st. So register early and get your trail mojo going!

The Oak Openings Stampede is the second race in the 2020 Mercy Health Trail Running Series at Metroparks Toledo. Other races include Where's the Dam at Providence Metropark on June 28th and Falling Leaves at Secor Metropark on October 25th. Registration for these are also available on RunSignUp.

All races are also sponsored by the Toledo Roadrunners Club (TRRC) and Second Sole Running Store. All proceeds benefit SewHope, Inc., a non-profit that serves the poor in Guatemala (www.sewhope.org).
