Everyone loves a standing ovation... Well, how about a moving one?!
Join us as we celebrate the true Superheroes of the COVID-19 epidemic... our essential workers.
This Memorial Day weekend, CAPE's Marathon Project will host its first-ever virtual 5K race! That means you can complete this race however and wherever works for you!!! We are hosting this event in honor of our brave essential workers and those who have served our country. It's a great way to stay socially distant while standing up for a cause and promoting self-care during this difficult time.
What is a virtual race?
In order to adhere to COVID-19 safety guidelines for social distancing, we are doing a virtual 5K. That means you can run, walk, or skip your way to your 'finish line' from wherever you want. You can join us on your treadmill, take a walk in the woods, or hit the pavement in your neighborhood! You will qualify for the race as long as you complete a 5K (3.1 miles), track your time and your route using a fitness device (such as a FitBit or Apple Watch) or a fitness app with GPS (free ones include Map My Run or Runkeeper). Once complete, you can submit your results to us online and post a picture of yourself at the finish line. Instructions will be provided for you to snap a photo at the end using a special NASWC finish line filter that will available on social media during the event timeframe.
PLEASE NOTE: Registrations submitted by May 1st, 2020 will be guaranteed their shirt size & receive a NASWC race kit in the mail (includes NASWC t-shirt, sunglasses, and a race bib).

Tell everyone why you signed up! Share a post on Facebook and/or Instagram with a photo of the real-life Superhero(es) that you're choosing to honor with your race entry. Tag us @capemarathon and use hashtag #NASWC2020 in your post.

Help us spread the word. Feel free to tag your friends and family on your Superhero post and challenge them to register too!!! This event is open to everyone everywhere. Don't forget to like/share our event on Facebook.

Stay tuned for further information via email, including race day instructions about how to track/submit your results and how to snap a special finish line selfie when your 5K is complete (using our custom NASWC social media filter).
