Event Description
Join us for a 5K race in beautiful Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, while supporting those stricken with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Run Against ALS is a volunteer nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide relief, serve, and empower individuals affected by ALS to positively impact their quality of life.
Participants walking, using wheelchairs, using ambulation aids or those pushing kids in a stroller are welcome and encouraged.
Race packet pick up information and race itinerary will be announced closer to the date of the race.
*************If the race can not go on as planned due to Covid 19, we plan to have a virtual 5K on the date of the race.*************

What is ALS?
ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that affects cells in the brain and spinal cord leading to weakness of muscles and eventual death.
Why is it important to support this race?
There is no cure for ALS. Critical research is needed to find treatments that extend individuals' lives with this disease. The life expectancy for individuals diagnosed with ALS is on average 2 to 5 years. Also, there is significant cost associated with this disease.
