Event Description

This free event is to encourage Burkittsville and nearby residents to keep walking through the summer. You're already walking around town on a daily basis anyway, why not see if you can log 100 miles between the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends? Each loop around town is just a hair over a mile. It'll take about 90 walks around the perimeter of town to reach the goal of 100-miles. That's an average of less than one loop a day! Walk. Skip. Run. The kiddos can even scooter or bike! It doesn't matter how you do it, as long as you do it with your feet! No, we won't be asking for verification or require you to have any fancy tracking gizmo-all of your mileage will be based on the honor system. Bonus: You can count all of your miles, not just the ones logged here in town! Fill out a registration for each member of your family and you'll be able to enter your daily progress on the event website and follow your progress. In the end, the family posting the most miles over the course of the challenge will get a $25 gift card to the Little Red Barn Ice Cream Cafe!
