Event Description

The Sonoran Desert, north of Tucson, will be a gorgeous setting for an awesome bike ride through the San Tan Catalina Mountains into Sabino and Bear Canyons which have been hidden from any motorized vehicle since 1978.  The 35 mile road ride will challenge your "everything" while you climb into Bear Canyon from Sabino Canyon.  Depending upon the weather, there are 9 water falls cascading over the desert.  The vistas are breathtaking and the views make every hill worth the effort.

This is Not a ride for the beginner cyclist; but for the advanced rider

This is a SAG supported bike ride, That will keep you energized throughout the ride.

Event details and schedule

Welcome to  The Inaugural Sabino Canyon 35

This is a 35 mile ride:  Not for the beginner; but for the advanced road rider

We will meet on Sunday January 15th in the Sabino Canyon parking lot on the SW at 6 am to sign in. The ride will head right into Sabino Canyon  Where you will have 2 hr to experience a ride that has been closed to traffic for many years.

The Inguraual Sabina Canyon 45 will take you into  Bear Canyon and back out on to the main road to continue your ride east for 3.7 miles to the top of Sabino Canyon crossing over 9 stone bridges. Use Caution in the way out of the canyon, it is a fast winding down hill on the way back to Ina Road where you will enjoy the winding climps up Ina Rd through Casas Adobles. Then returning back to the start via Ina Rd.

You will need to bring with you at least 2 water bottles. Dress in layers for the weather. The Sag will be there incase you want to peel off a layer or two during the day.

The most important to bring with you the Desire to ride and enjoy a great day of some of the most beautiful road less traveled by Bike.

Thank You
