Event Description

A Ladera Ranch tradition - The Freedom Run on the Ranch is a Run COVID Edition for all with a 5k, 100k Challenge and kids 1k event.  The event provides our community the ability to support local charities through the race registration proceeds and sponsorship opportunities.  We encourage all to enjoy this great opportunity to celebrate our national holiday and have a little fun while running the streets of your community.  Normally we would have several festivities to support the runners and non-participants at the event with a pancake breakfast and sponsor vendor area during the morning event, but this year will be a little different as we be hosting a Virtual "Covid 19" Freedom Run.  

This first time Virtual event will allow you to still enjoy a family fun tradition and start your day with a run with your friends and family, but with "Social Distancing" in mind.  You will be able to still run the traditional 5k course starting on the 4th of July but we will give you a few extra days to do it so we can social distance.  Also the run will be on the sidewalks and trails instead of the road. We will also give you a few extra days to complete the run so you have until the 10th of July to complete the run. Keep in mind during the run that when crossing streets or intersections all traffic laws are in affect and please be careful. The Kids 1k will be around Founders Park but run on the sidewalks.  Our last edition to this year's event will be a 100k Challenge for runners and walkers to complete over the month of July.  This will allow you to challenge yourself over the month of July and run any course you wish and any distance each day.  Again this event supports local charities "Laura's House" and "NEGU" so please run for these charities or maybe just donate if you do not wish to run.  Also remember to share your run with us on social media and post your results to see how you did over the rest of the running community.
