Even in the midst of difficult times, the Y community is making efforts to stay connected and to stay active this summer. Join the Wallingford Family YMCA Summer Fun Run to foster connections within the community and to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle with virtual motivation and accountability from your fellow Y members! When you join this event, We'll support you with training plans, new 5k and 10k routes, tips and tricks from runners, fun exercise playlists, motivational discussions and photos, and goals to strive for, whether you are an avid runner or are just starting out. The event itself will take place from Saturday August 8th to Sunday August 9th, and will kick off with a Zoom event. Prior to the event, we will engage with you by posting our own runs, setting goals and congratulating achievements, and encouraging social distanced run-meet-ups.
This event will come in 2 forms: the 5k and the 10k run. We encourage you to sign up for whichever you feel comfortable or excited to take part in. Though we will only be providing resources for training in running, we encourage you to participate in any way that you can-- running, walking, biking, or swimming. All forms of exercise are valid! We can't wait to take part in this event with you!
