Lenawee 10k will be: 1. Virtual, 2. Virtual with a Twist, and at a reduced price!

Proceeds benefit the Lenawee Intermediate School District for Social Justice Awareness and Education!

Runners, joggers, walkers, all are welcome to participate!  

Awesome Technical Fabric Shirts from Gear Up Adrian to all registered participants.  Four different shirt colors to choose from!  

1.  Virtual: Virtual runs work the same as any other type of race but the difference is that the race can be run at any location, at any pace, inside on a treadmill, or outside anywhere you choose.  Complete the 10k wherever you wish between July 11 and July 17.  If you would like to be included in the race results report, send your time and evidence of your completed run, such as a photo of your watch with the completed 10k (6.2 mile) distance, a photo of your treadmill screen, or the data/screen shot from a running app. such as Strava.  If you do not have a GPS watch, or movement app. on your phone, no worries, just send in your overall time to complete 10k.  Participants in the virtual race may complete the distance by walking, jogging, or running.  The distance can also be completed over multiple sessions or days.  Once registered you will receive an email with directions and a link to submit your time.      

2.  VIRTUAL WITH A TWIST:  Race Time!  To be eligible for Awards, come and race anytime between July 11 and 17 on the 2020 Lenawee 10k course.  Once registered, you will receive an email with directions and a link to submit your time and evidence you completed the run on the race course via STRAVA (If you don't have STRAVA, it's a free app that is easy to download and use.  Access this link for more information:  STRAVA). 

The course is a flat, fast, and beautiful out and back route starting and finishing on the Kiwanis trail at M-52.  Parking is available at the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) Building - 4107 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian MI 49221.  The start is near the intersection of M-52 and the Kiwanis trail.  Participants head East toward Tecumseh for 5k (3.1 miles) before the turn around at Occidental Hwy, and heading back West the Kiwanis Trail to finish where the race started.  Pink pavement markings are on the course/route, including mile markers. See the attachment below for a course/route map. Caution and Safety:  The route/course crosses two roads both on the way out and back, Sutton Rd., and Gady Rd..  Please take extreme caution while running, vehicles do not stop at these crossings.

Social Justice:  By participating in Lenawee 10k, you will leverage the ability to run by making a positive impact in our community.  Proceeds will go to the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) to improve Social Justice Awareness and Education in Lenawee County Schools. 

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to be a runner to participate?  No, all are welcome, and you can do it.  Walk, Jog, Run.  Left foot, Right Foot, Repeat at your own pace! 

Why a 10k?  Currently, this is the only 10k in Lenawee County!    

What do I get for registering?  Beyond the reward of Playing it Forward in unity to benefit social justice, all participants who register before July 6th will receive a technical fabric race shirt from Gear Up Adrian!

How do I get my shirt?  Race shirts can be picked up at Running With E's - 146 N. Main St. Adrian MI 49221 on or after July 11th during store hours:  Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 10am - 2pm and Fridays 10am to 630pm.  Call ahead, as store hours may be expanded:  517.266.6344.  If you live out of the county and don't plan to come to Adrian, we will mail your shirt. 

Someone I know just wants to buys a shirt, can they?  Yes, click on "More" (toward the top right corner of the page) and then "Store" to order shirts or add additional shirts to your registration. 

What can I win and how?  We have some great prizes up for grabs.  Awards In the form of gift certificates to Running With E's will be given to the Male and Female Overall and Masters (40+ years old) champions.  Awards in the form of Prizes from Huma Energy Gels, Picky Bars, Tailwind Nutrition, Knockaround Sunglasses, and Altra Running will be given to Male and Female age group winners in the following categories:  12 and Under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.  

How do I submit my time?  A form with a link for uploading your completion time and evidence will be sent to you via email after registering for the race.  To be eligible for awards for the VIRTUAL WITH A TWIST Race, you must run on the 2020 Lenawee 10k course and submit your result and evidence using STRAVA.  Once registered, you will receive an email with directions and a link to submit your time and evidence you completed the run on the race course via STRAVA (If you don't have STRAVA, it's a free app that is easy to download and use.  Access this link for more information:  STRAVA).    

How will I know if I won an award?  Results will be posted and sent to all participants via email.  Awards will be picked up at Running With E's anytime after results are posted.
