Event Description

The Team Ryan Charitable Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research is hosting a Virtual Run to raise funds for the St. Jude Research Hospital. Team Ryan was created in memory of Ryan Christian, who lost her battle to pediatric cancer at age 11. Ryan was a sweet, beautiful soul who enjoyed figure skating, playing soccer, basketball, swimming and animals. She was athletic but also enjoyed dressing up like a princess, painting pictures and playing with friends. Ryan was diagnosed with Pediatric Adrenocortical Carcinoma at age 8 in 2010 - and there is still no known cure for this cancer as of today. Ryan received treatment at St. Jude where doctors and scientists actively research this disease. Ryan's family was able to stay in the St. Jude family housing for months while she underwent eight rounds of intensive chemotherapy, which was a lifeline for the family to concentrate on just one thing - Ryan.

At St. Jude, patients and their families never receive a bill for treatment. Ryan's family cannot express how much this means to families while their child fights for his or her life. Team Ryan has raised funds for St. Jude since Ryan was diagnosed in 2010. Team Ryan is celebrating 10 years of Running for Ryan.
