Event Description

Fall 2020 Full & Half Marathon training in Cary & Holly Springs is brought to you by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs.  Each class is 16 weeks long and is geared toward helping adults train for a full or half marathon: be it their first or as a veteran runner looking to improve their race time.  All levels and paces are welcome!

The class will include a detailed daily plan over the 16 weeks, with 2 coached group runs per week, suggested cross-training, strength training, and long run days. The coached group runs are in person, though this class can be done virtually if preferred: all info will be provided on the group run & route ahead of time so that trainees can run separately at another time if they want to. 

Cost of the class is $75 if you register by 8/2/20.  Registration cost from 8/3 - 8/16 is $85, and registration cost from 8/17 - 9/8 is $100.  Deadline to register is 9/8/20.

Cost includes: 16-week training schedule, 2 coach-led group workouts per week, email access to the coach throughout the program, 20% off discount at Pace Yourself Run Company (some restrictions apply), training class shirt (deadline to get a training shirt is to register before 8/31), in-class/virtual seminars on running-related topics, strength training plan & virtual workout with coach and other trainees, 2 in-person recovery sessions by The Running PTs at class meeting location, and weekly tips and running information from your coach and The Running PTs to supplement your knowledge.

For in-person training, no one can attend who has had a 100.4 degree temperature or higher in the past 24 hours or exhibited any cold symptoms.  If anyone tests positive for COVID-19, please inform your coach immediately and go into quarantine for 14 days, not attending any in-person classes during that time.  If it's determined that others were put at risk, the coach will take appropriate measures to ensure all affected quarantine for 14 days as well and not attend in-person classes during that time.  Please be respectful of others in the training program by minimizing your social interactions outside of class (and ensure all are interactions are done as safely as possible) to lessen risk of exposure and passing this virus to others.  Within class, we will ensure social distancing is observed at all times and that every interaction can be contact-less.

Coach Kelly Svihovec will coach the Cary class and Coach Dave Gross will coach the Holly Springs class.

Program dates: August 2nd - November 21st.  Group training will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30AM for both Cary & Holly Springs.  The Cary class will meet at Davis Drive Park (large picnic shelter: 1610 Davis Drive, Apex, NC 27523) and the Holly Springs class will meet at Pace Yourself Run Company (242 S. Main Street, Suite 102, Holly Springs, NC 27540).
