Event Description
The 53rd Annual Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot will bring runners and walkers to Dallas’s City Hall Plaza on Thanksgiving Day. The 8-mile course runs through downtown Dallas, into Oak Cliff and back, with scenic views of downtown from the viaducts. The 5K route provides up close views of historic downtown locations and provides a shorter route for all members of the family; runners, walkers, strollers, and dogs.
New in 2020, a virtual Trot at Home option is available for anyone that won’t be able to join us in person. With the virtual option, literally EVERYONE can be a part of the largest Turkey Trot in the world, no matter where they are on November 26, 2020!
This year, the in-person event will have a capacity of 10,000 participants so it is important that you register early to secure your spot. Historically, we have over 20,000 very loyal participants that keep the tradition alive. Although 2020 has been a challenging year all over the world, continuing The Trot tradition inspires hope in our community and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is committed to providing a safe and fun event for all.
100% of proceeds will benefit the COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts provided by the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. The Y provided emergency child care for first responders, medical professionals, and essential workers when schools and businesses closed. The Y became food distribution centers and blood drive sites, and continued to serve the seniors and other individuals that needed assistance.

Event details and schedule
You can choose your start time - 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., or 10:00 a.m.
Online registration will close at 12:00 noon (CST) on Wednesday, November 25 or when the capacity of 10,000 has been reached, whichever comes first.
We recommend that participants bring their own beverages, snacks, or fruit to refuel after their run. Limited pre-packaged snacks and bottled water will be available at the finish lines.
