2020 LEVEL PEBBLE DUATHLON
Friday, August 21, 2020 & Saturday, August 22, 2020
Hosted by the Flat Rock Community Center
The Level Pebble Triathlon has changed format this year to a DUATHLON (run-bike-run)! This is a great event for athletes NEW to multisport or veteran athletes who have been training through the pandemic and want to test those legs/wheels out!
Friday, Aug 21: Level Pebble YOUTH Duathlon [ages 14 & Under] (0.75 mile run, 2 or 4 mile bike, 1.0 or 1.5 mile run)
5:00 pm: Check in/packet pick-up.
5:45 pm: Transition area closes/athlete meeting/ time-trial lineup
6:00 pm: Duathlon start (time trial start...one athlete every 10 seconds)
Saturday, Aug 22: Level Pebble Duathlon & Relay [ages 15-Adult] (1.5 mile run, 12.4 mile bike, 3.1 mile run)
7:00 am: Check in/packet pick-up.
7:45 am: Transition area closes/athlete meeting/ time-trial lineup
8:00 am: Duathlon start (time trial start...one athlete every 10 seconds)
Race Location: Flat Rock Community Center (1 Maguire St., Flat Rock, MI 48134)
Participant Amenities: tech t-shirt, finisher award, post-race food/drink, official split (run, bike, transition) timing
Cost: Youth Duathlon (Friday) $40 / Duathon (Saturday) $50 / Duathlon Relay (Saturday) $90
NEVER RACED IN A DUATHLON? No worries! Sign-up for Duathlon Training (includes your race entry fee!)
Youth Duathlon Training (3 classes, 60 minutes each): Tue. Aug 4, 11th, 18th, (6:30-7:30pm)
Classes focus on proper run and bike technique, pre/post stretching, run-bike-run transitions
Cost: $55, includes entry into the Level Pebble Youth Duathlon (Fri, Aug 21), event shirt, plus coaching at three 60-min classes.
Adult Duathlon Training (4 classes, 90 minutes each): Wed. Aug 5th, Sun. Aug 9th, Wed. Aug 12th, Sun. Aug 16th (6:30-8:00pm)
Classes focus on nutrition, proper run and bike technique, pre/post stretching, run-bike-run transitions
Cost: $65, includes entry into the Level Pebble Duathlon (Sat, Aug 22), event shirt, plus coaching at four 90-min classes.

COVID-19 Safety Precautions:
- Athlete Health Screening at Check-In
- Extra spacing in transition area
- Limited bathroom access inside Flat Rock Community Center
- Time-trial (physically distant) duathlon start
- No-drafting or side-by-side riding permitted on bike course
- Race officials/volunteers wearing masks/PPE
- Contact-less aid stations on run course
- Encouraging limited spectators on site
- Physical distancing practiced on site
- Participant awards given immediately upon crossing finish line.
By following these safety guidelines, we believe the Level Pebble Duathlon can be safely held. Should the event be cancelled by governmental order, all race entries will be deferred (at no charge) to the 2021 Level Pebble Duathlon.
