Event Description

One in five individuals struggle with learning and attention challenges. Lee Pesky Learning Center (LPLC) works together with students, families, schools and communities to understand and overcome these obstacles to learning.  LPLC's academic services, counseling, evaluations, trainings, courses, products, and research have reached over 100,000 students and 7,000 teachers since 1997 and, with your support, we can reach even more!
The pandemic has derailed many planned athletic events worldwide, and the disappointment of race cancellations and postponements is being felt by runners everywhere. We felt this too when the New York City Marathon was cancelled. Each year, LPLC sends a team of 10 runners as part of our Running for Learning team to run the New York City Marathon. These runners complete 26.2 miles and fund-raise crucial dollars for LPLC's programming. This year we hope that you will help us raise funds to support LPLC in a different way.
We are excited to invite you to participate in the First Annual Running for Learning Virtual Race! This virtual race will take place September 15 - October 13. Runners are asked to complete a run/walk distance of their choice - You choose to run/walk either a  half marathon (13.1 miles) or a marathon (26.2 miles). And the good news is that you don't have to do it all at once. When the race kicks off, simply track your miles using our race web site. You can complete your miles over time or all in one day. Everyone learns (and runs!) differently. We understand.
Want to add meaning to your miles and save your registration fee? Raise a minimum of $250 for your run participation and we will refund your registration fee. Your dollars and your networks will help us help students and families as they navigate a very challenging school year. Come run with us to help meet our goal of $50,000! All race fees and funds raised will go to LPLC to support our students, families, teachers, and communities.

Thank you to our race partners:
