Event Description

Join us for a virtual 5k fundraiser for the Tom Toscano foundation.  Participants will run a 5k at a location of their choosing anytime between August 17th and August 30th, and report their time on this website.  All results must be reported by 8/31/20.  Every entrant who registers before 8/17 will also receive a race t-shirt (registrants after 8/17 will receive a tshirt while supplies last). 

The Tom Toscano Foundation benefits numerous endeavors in cross country and track & field in Sachem School District and the surrounding communities.

There will be no awards for this virtual event. This event was originally slated to be an in-person revival of the Tom Toscano XC Challenge.  In the spirit of the XC challenge, running your race on an XC surface is encouraged, though not required.

5k = 3.11 miles.  Participants can measure their distance using a gps watch, a tracking app on their phone, 12.5 laps of a standard high school 400m track,  or running a route they otherwise know to be measured as 5km.  All times are self reported and on the honor system.  Please use good sportsmanship.
