The Big Tesuque Trail Run 2020
The Race to Outrun Coronavirus
We've run the Big Tesuque Trail Run for 36 years and this year will be no exception. For over 20 years, the race has donated proceeds to WINGS OF AMERICA, a Native American Youth Running Program. We are proud to announce that the Big T 2020 will continue this year as a virtual trail run and WINGS will receive proceeds again this year.
The Big T race location is the same agonizing trek up Aspen Vista with spectacular views when you reach the top. Because we will likely be able to run at some time between now and October 3rd (staying safe while we do so), we have come up with a plan that will allow us to run, stay as safe as we can personally keep ourselves, and continue our tradition of running to see the aspens and donating to WINGS!
Everyone that registers will receive a custom designed shirt by none other than Dustin Martin aka King of the Mountain and Director of Wings Of America.
How to Participate:
1. Register here and pay the $40 registration fee with excess proceeds going to WINGS Of America.
2. Specify your shirt size during registration.
3. Run the 12 miles up and back on the Aspen Vista Trail anytime between when you register and Saturday, October 3 at 9 a.m. Start timing at the gate on Aspen Vista Trail. Run all the way to the t-post at the top of the trail. Stop your watch and take in some of the spectacular views. Start your watch and run back down to the start of the trail.
4. Return to this web site and enter your results by going to "Results" at the top of this page and then clicking on "Submit Virtual Results".

Awards
Awards will be given to the first three finishers in each of the age categories for women and men; 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and >70. We'll also have an award for the first overall female and male!
We are working on raffle prizes from our sponsors. Awards and t-shirts will be available on date TBD from the Running Hub in Santa Fe, TBD in Albuquerque and the Aquatic Center in Los Alamos. Shirts will be available approximately three weeks after the race. Awards and shirt can be mailed upon request.

Notice
None of us claims to be immune from the Coronavirus and we have no idea what the Governor's orders will be on race day, October 3, 2020 and we will fully comply with any orders our Governor thinks are necessary for the common good and to keep us all safe. In the unlikely event that the infection rates are down and social gatherings are allowed on race day, we will run the race with whomever shows up at 9 a.m.! And in the event that this happens, the Santa Fe Striders will provide burritos from Joe’s Dining, and coffee from Java Joe’s and there will be much rejoicing!
Neither the Santa Fe Striders, nor anyone associated with the race can be responsible for your safety or health as is stated on the waiver.
When you do this run on your own, remember not to fall, stay safe, wear a mask when you are near others, hydrate, have fun and enjoy the mountains! As you near the top, do a shout out to all those that came before us and allowed us to be in this beautiful place and for those that will come after. We’re all connected. Stay safe!
