Event Description

Every day, 43 children will be diagnosed with cancer.  Eli's Block Party Childhood Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in North Alabama.  We normally have a wonderful "Superhero Fun Day" in September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which is attended by thousands, but have had to cancel this year due to the pandemic.  However, Captain Hope has come up with a way for everyone help us to continue to raise much needed funds for cancer research.  We will be kicking off our very first Superhero 43 Ribbon Races with an option for everyone!  If you are a hard-core runner/walker, you can do 43 miles in one day during Labor Day Weekend or spread out the 43 miles over two or three days during the weekend.  For the rest of us, the challenge is to run or walk 43 miles total over the whole month, just a little over a mile a day!  Whichever race you choose, you also have the option to raise additional funds for our Cancer Foundation.  All race proceeds and donations go to doctors and labs, particularly those researching innovative treatments for childhood brain cancer.
