Event Description
United Against Human Trafficking invites you to “Go the Distance to End Trafficking” in our first-ever Virtual 5K during the month of October! Children, teenagers, men, and women are exploited for sex and labor in our city every day. Funds raised during our 5K will help us fight to end human trafficking in our community and support UAHT programs that identify and connect victims and survivors to crucial services and care.
How does a virtual 5K work?
You can run, walk, skip, wheelchair, or push a stroller the 3.1 miles (5K) – your choice -- wherever you are! Run/walk with a few family members or friends at your favorite park or around your neighborhood -- or include our Virtual 5K in your daily workout on the treadmill at home!
Want to take a scenic route? We’ve provided 5K course maps in scenic areas around the city on this website just for that purpose! (And if you’d like to create your own personal course, you can do so on MapMyRun.com.)
You have from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 to complete our Virtual 5K.
But don’t worry about the time it takes to complete your run/walk! This is all for a great cause, so you're not required to prove your effort or time.
However, we would love to see photos of your 5K! So take selfies of you and your friends and family before, during, or at the end of the 5K and share them with us on the photo page of our race website! (Click on the PHOTO button at the top of this page.)

When you invite others to join our Virtual 5K, you don’t just “Go the Distance,” you further your superpower for survivors as an individual fundraiser – and you earn back $$$ on your registration.
Here’s how:
1. Register for the race. Once you complete your registration, you'll receive a unique URL link to share.
2. Share this unique link with everyone you know!
3. If you get three friends to sign up using your special referral link, you will receive a refund of $6 as our Thank You! (There is a maximum of three refunds per link.)
4. RunSignUp referral bonuses appear back on your card within a matter of days!

Stay safe
The health and safety of our Virtual 5K participants is extremely important. Please follow city and county recommendations on participation in outdoor activities during the pandemic and practice social distancing during the run/walk, staying at least six feet away others, and be mindful of automobiles on the road and obey all traffic laws.
