Event Description

We are excited to announce that the 5th annual GFD Fit for Duty 5K will be held in person on Saturday, October 3, 2020. We will continue to monitor NYS COVID-19 guidelines and recommendations, but as of today we feel confident that we can safely hold this event in October. As we get closer to race day we will provide racers and interested racers with our COVID-19 race plan via our Facebook event page.

In an effort to keep this event as safe as possible, we have capped the run at a 50 person maximum and eliminated the kids’ fun run. In addition, there will be no race day registration. Runners are encouraged to bring a water bottle as there will be no water stations along the course.  

Due to the economic strain put on our local, small businesses due to COVID-19, GFD will not be seeking donations this year to support the race. Any profits will come solely from race registration fees and will be put directly back into the fire department. 

Event details and schedule

Race begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at the Greenwich Firehouse located at 60 Hill Street, Greenwich.

On-line registration closes on Friday, October 2nd. There will be no race day registration. 

T-shirts are guaranteed for all registered walkers/runners.
