The COVID Pandemic has taken a Mental Toll on all of us in the Veterinary Medicine Field. Long hours, short-staffed, irritable clients, etc. have added to our daily stresses at work. We need a mental break! This year, Alabama Veterinary Technician Association is holding virtual 5k Jog/Walk/Nap for Mental Health Awareness from October 11th through October 18th (Vet Tech Week).
You can go for a walk/jog with your dog, form a walk/jog team with your colleagues, or take a catnap for 30 minutes. Whatever you and/or your colleagues decide to do, we ask that you please follow social distancing guidelines and mask ordinances accordingly.
Registration is free and comes with a free AVTA Koozie. Other merchandise is available for purchase through our website. So grab some AVTA Swag and represent Vet Techs everywhere!
We also ask that you please donate an amount of your choosing to AVTA. We provide extended support to Veterinary Technicians in Alabama by providing members with tools to excel in their profession, including information on school programs, discounts on NAVTA membership, discounts on merchandise, and providing continued education. Your contribution will help us continue to provide these services to our members and so much more!
If you have feelings of severe depression or suicide and would prefer to talk to another veterinary professional confidentially, please go to vinfoundation.org for more information.
