Event Description

This is a two-person relay race with costumes and creative batons encouraged.  Each runner pays $5 pre-registered (or $7 race day) and runs one roughly 1.6 mile lap around City Park carrying a baton and handing it off to their partner. We will gather on side and behind pavilion by the fountain (traffic circle on east side of Pueblo City Park). We don't get to use the indoor pavilion but can use the indoor bathroom if needed.

Awards are chocolate!  There will be a chocolate award for each runner on the winning teams with the Biggest baton, Most Romantic Baton, Most Creative Baton and the Ugliest Baton.  When planning your baton, think how a timing chip can be attached with zip tie or tape, this way we can give each runner their splits!  The 2nd runner will wear the bib on the front of their body.

Top three teams in each combined team age group:  These awards are designed to be fair for coed teams.  We’ve allowed two females on a team but two males on a team can have an unfair speed advantage and might be excluded from these awards. So be cool and just understand we want to keep it fair for coed teams and maybe harder on your costume and baton more!   

Age Divisions:  age divisions are determined by adding the ages of each team member, as of race day.  They are 30 and under, 31-39, 40-59, 60-79, 80-99, 100-119, 120 and up.
