Event Description

Minding Your Mind is a leading provider of School Based and Community Wide Mental Health Education Programs. Our mission is to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues and to promote help seeking behavior in those who may be suffering. The  COVID 19 crisis has had a dramatic impact on mental health, especially among teens and young adults.  On October 10th 2020, In honor of World Mental Health Day, Minding Your Mind is launching Move For Your Mind an all inclusive movement challenge for individuals of all ages. Run, Walk, Dance, Jump, Climb, Swim, Cycle, Roll, Dance, Lift, Row, Balance or play a backyard game. There are no restrictions to the challenge as long as you are staying safe. We invite you, your friends and family, athletic team and/or social group to participate. Your choice of activity is up to you. Please join us as we Celebrate World Mental Health Day 2020 by registering for this fun and meaningful challenge. The need has never been greater!

The data surrounding teen mental health in this crisis is extremely alarming. In the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report of August 14, 2020, it showed that 25.5% of respondents aged 18-24 seriously considered suicide in the past month. Additionally,  82% of teens are calling on America to talk more openly and honestly about mental health issues in this country and 79% of teens surveyed wish there was an inclusive environment or safe space for people in school to talk about mental health. Students are telling us that they need Minding Your Mind and you can help! This year we are offering live-stream and recorded presentations that will temporarily replace, and ultimately enhance, in-person presentations. We purchased new tech equipment and created a studio in our office where speakers will both record and deliver live presentations. Our new educational platform, Minding Your Mind: ONLINE offers schools the opportunity to access supplementary Mental Health Education materials including interactive exercises, activities, worksheets, and to address these issues and needs on an ongoing basis throughout the school year. Please help us! Let's all come together to scale up our investment in Mental Health so we can remain ready to be there for those who need and desperately want Minding Your Mind.
