Community Virtual 5k
The Everett Special Education PTSA is hosting a Virtual 5k event for all families, students, staff and community members to participate in this Winter. Proceeds will go to support all Everett School District PTA/PTSA/Cascade - Bruin Community Parents (BCP). This is a week long event from December 7th - 13th, 2020 to allow for everyone's schedule.
How to support your School's PTA/PTSA/BCP
Anyone and everyone who registers, will have a week to run, walk, roll, hop, skip or jump to the 5k distance. Registrants will pick their own course anywhere they want. The Virtual 5k can be completed all at one time or broken up into multiple days.
When you register for the event, each participant will be required to select a school PTA/PTSA/BCP. Then 50% of the proceeds from registrants who selected your school will go directly to your school's PTA/PTSA/BCP. The other 50% goes to the Everett Special Education PTSA Grant Fund, which supports teacher grants for special education classrooms throughout our School District.
What is a virtual run?
When we can't come together as a community, in person, safely, we go for virtual runs. A virtual run is a running/walking race or event that allows to safely participate at home. We will mail all of your swag, and you run on your own time on your preferred home course.
What is the difference between the All In Participant and the 5K Supporter?
The All In 5k Participant registration fee covers a Finishers Medal, Racing Bib and postage for these items to be mailed directly to you. Note, there are 2 registrations periods for the All In...to receive BOTH your Finishers medal and bib PRIOR to race week, register by October 23rd. After the October 23rd - November 20th, we will be placing a 2nd order for medals that will ship AFTER the event in December.
The 5k Supporter level, does NOT include a Finishers Medal or Racing Bib. Registration for this level is available all the way up to race week.
For either registration level, after the race you can come back and enter your results to get a Digital Finishers Certificate.
When will I receive my swag in the mail?
The All in 5k Participant - For everyone that registers by October 23rd, we will be mailing your finishers medal and running bib to you the week prior to the event. If you register between October 24th and November 20th, your running bib will be mailed to you prior to the event, but your finishers medal will be mailed to you and will arrive a few weeks after the event.
Why should I participate?
We are all finding it difficult to get out and do things due to COVID. This event is to help encourage a healthy lifestyle, family engagement, to get outdoors, and as a community come to support each other. Bonus...many of our students are looking for ways to count activities for PE...this would count!
Would you like to receive a digital Finishers Certificate?
Once you have completed your event, go back to our race event site, find the "Results" button and add your individual times. A digital certificate will be emailed to you. Remember, since you run your own course, you set where the finish line is located. Many people use smart phones, watches with GPS to tell them how far they have gone. You can also google online your course and figure out your distance before you go...just make sure to time yourself!
