Event Description

The 43rd Annual Gorilla Grind 5K Run/Walk sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pittsburg, Kansas will look a little different in 2020.  Due to the pandemic and the need to keep all racers as safe as possible, the race will be virtual this year.  The race is typically held on homecoming weekend for Pittsburg State University.  This year, we invite all registrants to run or walk anytime during the month of October 2020.  You pick the time and place!  Our hope is to get participants from all over the world!

Proceeds from the Gorilla Grind 5K provides scholarships to local high school students entering Pittsburg State University.  A scholarship also is awarded to a student entering PSU Army ROTC.

Local Pick-Up for Swag is at the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce during regular office hours.  You will be contacted when you can come and make the pick-up.  The estimated time is 2-3 weeks for packets to be ready for pick up after registration.  Shipping packets will require an extra fee of $6.95 which must be chosen under the optional giveaway section of registration.
