Event Description

CASA of Midwest Kentucky, Inc. has been advocating for child victims who find themselves entangled in the child welfare system when their parents can’t or won’t care for them. When the state steps in to protect a child's safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to get to know the child’s situation and offer objective, informed recommendations about what services and outcomes are in his/her best interest.  Our program currently has trained advocates serving children in Hopkins, Henderson, Crittenden, Union, Muhlenberg and Webster Counties.

Every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes. To ensure we can continue serving all children referred to our program, we will host CASA Superhero Run VIRTUALLY in 2021. Our hope is that you will race from wherever you are between October 1st and October 30th to bring awareness to "Child Abuse Prevention" and help us spread hope no matter where you are located.   Each county will have a t-shirt pick up / registration booth at a local park - and you can choose to "Walk with Us" that evening to get in some of your "run".

Superhero costumes are encouraged, but not required!  We know a "virtual run" is a new and strange concept for a lot of people so just have fun with it!  Running down the street in a superhero costume will definitely brighten someone's day !  It is also a great opportunity to run the race "with" your friends and family members who do not live in Western Kentucky.  You could turn this race into a competition with your running club, soft ball team, book club, and old friends you haven't see in a while.  You can even do it from the comfort of your own home (treadmill) or on a Harley!  Just get out and "RUN" for CASA!
