Event Description

WHAT: Sweet Home Chicago (Virtual) Halloween 5K Run, Walk & Step is a fun, safe alternative to trick-or treating to benefit the Arts for Illinois Relief Fund. The event is both a fundraiser and a way to engage the city in a positive way. The virtual 5K can be done indoors or outdoors, over Halloween weekend.

A 5K walk is the equivalent of 3500 steps. We encourage everyone to sign-up to participate and commit to getting in at least 3500 steps over Halloween weekend. Some ideas could include: 

62 steps = taking the stairs to the third floor
594 steps = walking around a city block
790 steps = going on a grocery trip
2060 steps = 1-mile walk
3900 steps = 30 minutes of gardening (131 steps/minute)
5200 steps = 2.5 mile walk

WHEN: Anytime from Thursday, October 29 thru Saturday, October 31, 2020.

WHERE: You are encouraged to walk, run and move in your local neighborhood, but of course, this can be done anywhere, everywhere.

HOW: Register yourself or as a group! Individual and group prizes available!
