Event Description

The Healing House is hosting a fun, family-friendly 5k Santa Run. Runners and walkers (and strollers and pets) all welcome! Santa costumes highly encouraged.

All money raised will go to support our nonprofit organization that houses women in substance abuse and mental health recovery. We are a holistic transitional living center focused on healing trauma and teaching vital life skills to prepare our clients for living successful, sober lives after treatment. Some of our services include group and individual counseling, fitness and nutrition training, yoga/meditation/mindfulness classes, budgeting help, and assistance obtaining permanent housing. 

Funds from this race will primarily be used for housing bills, toiletries and other supplies, and sober fun activities. 

The Healing House was founded by 3 sisters who grew up in a family of addicts. They are passionate about raising awareness, ending stigma, and educating and reuniting families. Since we opened 3 years ago, all operations have been self-funded. Your participation in the Santa Run and any additional donations will help us carry out our mission of fight the opioid epidemic and are greatly appreciated!!

The race will be held December 12, 2020 at Smith Park in Middletown. Cost is $15 per adult, $10 per child ages 5-18, 4 and under free. First 50 participants to arrive will receive a free tshirt, limited sizes available. All registrants will receive a race package including information about us and news and coupons for surrounding businesses. First place male and female from each category will be awarded a medal or trophy and be announced on our social media pages. 

Runners will be placed in to waves/corrals of no more than 10 participants at a time, each wave starting every 5 minutes to encourage social distancing. Runners are expected to wear masks at the packet pick up tables and up until their wave begins.
