Event Description
The Britten Strong 5K/1 mile walk is an opportunity to come together as a community in order to support Britten Olinger and his family. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Britten in order to help with continuing medical costs and medical equipment needs.
Britten Olinger was hit by an erratic driver on February 27, 2017. He was left with a severely damaged lung, a brachial plexus injury on his left shoulder, and paralyzed from the chest down. Britten was an avid runner and track and field coach. He continues to coach track and field at Montreat College in North Carolina and lives in Black Mountain with his wife and two children. Britten's accident left him with on-going medical expenses and medical equipment needs that will continue for the rest of his life.
This event is a way for us to give back to Britten and to show him our support!
