One Epic Run

The Preserve of Lakewood

March 27th of 2021

Welcome to the resurrected One Epic Run. This race will bring back some muddy memories with a mix of rain and nostalgia. One Epic Run is coming back in 2021 to a new venue! The energy, atmosphere, and tradition will be the same! This FREE 24 hour race will accept donations that will go directly to the preserve to maintain the new trail system and build our a few amenities for the public's use.
One Epic 24 Hour will open for registration on Jan 1st at Midnight. The race will be capped at 250 runners, with only 100 of them allowed for camping. The race is free but the primitive campsites will be $15 for the weekend. All donations are welcome and the camping and donations will go directly to the Preserve at Lakewood to maintain the facility in hopes to have a sustainable park for the public by the Spring of 2021.

Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup will be offered on Friday during our ceremonial One Epic Fire at the Preserve of Lakewood. Registered Runners will be offered to set up primitive camping (no water or power) with their vehicle near the start finish line. Overnight camping will be offered on both nights (Friday and Saturday). Setup on Friday can begin after 2pm. Saturday morning packet pickup will begin 60 minutes prior to the race for runners who are not staying overnight.

Bib # & Timing Chip

Please locate the Bib # Sheet at packet pickup. It will be organized by distance and in alphabetical order. Find your name that corresponds with your assigned bib # and give that number to one of our volunteers at packet pickup. Please make sure that your bib is on the front of your body and is visible when you cross the finish line. Please make sure to return your timing chip to the correct storage bin located at the finish line prior to getting your finish medal. Participants who lose or neglect to return their timing chip will be asked to mail it in or pay $15 to have the reusable chip replaced.

The Preserve - Course Map HERE

The course currently is a 1.5 mile relatively flat loop with no roots, no water crossings, and minimal shade. WIth enough funding we plan on developing a 5k course out at the preserve that has over 150 acres!

Race Swag

All race participants will receive an Upstate Ultra Sticker and a unique wooden finisher award. Not everyone likes shirts so we have provided an option to purchase an Upstate Ultra Tri-Blend Shirt, Performance Socks, Trucker Hat, or Trail Buff.

Race Awards

Top 3 Male and Female will receive a custom hand made award by our partner of Next Up Opportunity! Each finisher will receive a finisher medal that will be branded with the race logo and come with a custom race patch on the backside! We will also publish our age group results that will coincide with our Race Series. To learn more about our race series and awards please visit our results page here: HERE

Address/Parking State Park

Runners can park at 221 Lakewood Drive Greenville, SC 29607. From there participants can find ample day use parking in an adjacent field about 50 meters from the start line and overnight campers will be directed to the adjacent field behind the start/finish line barn where runners will pass by with each 1.5 mile loop.

Course Markings

The course will have a series of directional arrows (both yellow and green) that will be placed  at various intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course. In the event that you make a wrong turn please backtrack to your original spot of confusion. Cutting the course (even if unintentionally will lead to a disqualification)
