Event Description

What:  Pick your activity and start reading.  There are many options for selecting a reading goal.  You Choose!  Once you select the type of goal, decide on the specifics  (for example: If you select Number of Minutes Read for your goal, decide how many minutes you plan to read each day or week.)  The goal is to select an attainable goal and reach it!

Why:  Read, read, read is our motto.  For the past six years, our Rotary club has hosted a "BBQ for Books" to raise funds for literacy and other service projects.  Since we could not host our BBQ in 2020 we are looking to raise funds through this reading challenge.  The money from this fundraiser will go towards purchasing books for students in Kirksville and the Northeast Missouri area in conjunction with their Scholastic Book Fairs. In addition, we are in a multi-year project helping to update the Brashear School Library.

March 2 is Dr. Seuss's birthday.  Stay tuned for a final event celebration!

Sign up to participate in one of the reading challenge options.
Share with friends via Facebook to promote your participation.  Share your goal and progress.
Donate if you can.  Find people or businesses willing to sponsor you in reaching your goal.   Invite your friends to donate as well.
Reading Rally T-shirts will be provided to each participant who raises $100.
