Event Description

Anyone who has been to a Girls on the Run 5K knows that it is unlike any other running event.  It is a celebration of and for the girls who are completing an eight week season of Girls on the Run programming. By the day of the 5K, their enthusiasm is so unbridled that they are running around before the race!  Positive energy abounds as the girls dance to warm-up music, get their hair “happied” and "tattoos" on their faces, and gather with their teammates to hold hands as they head to the starting line.  We welcome all runners from our community to run with and cheer for our girls. You will be so glad you joined us!

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS: For everyone's safety, we ask that all attendees maintain proper social distancing protocols while on the premises. Volunteers and staff will be wearing masks at all times. Everyone is encouraged to wear masks outside when in close proximity to others not in your immediate group. Masks may be removed immediately before beginning an event. There will be two water stations with individual water bottles. One at the start and one halfway. Please click  HERE   for more information regarding the City of Punta Gorda Mask policy.

We have added a Virtual option:  The virtual option begins May 21 and ends on May 24. With this option, you will receive a T-shirt if registering before May 10. You will be able to pick up your shirts after the race on May 22 at Laishley Park.

Additional Event Details:  T-shirts guaranteed for all 5K participants registered prior to May 10, 2021. Last-minute registration for these events is available on-site, day-of, at this location.
